The Bigelow Cooperative has provided high-quality care and education for toddlers and preschool-age children for almost 30 years. At Bigelow, members of a diverse community of families and teachers collaborate on the shared goal of raising competent, compassionate children in a loving and enriching environment. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy that children are capable learners, the center offers an anti-bias, theme and project-based emergent curriculum. We are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
Currently located in Harvard Square, we are excited about moving to our new home at 44 Park Street, Somerville, Mass, in August 2012. The new, state of the art facility-just 15 min walking distance from Harvard and Porter Squares-is being build with children in mind: It will feature five classrooms including a new infant room as well as an indoor gross motor space, a library, and a dedicated playground and community garden.
Contact Melinda Weber (director) or Susan Costas (program coordinator) with questions or to schedule a tour via bigelowcoop@gmail.com or 617-354-7335.
