To finish our unit on Dinosaurs we took the children on a trip to see the fossils at the Harvard Museum of Natural History. During our time at the Museum we saw many fossils, skeletons of dinosaurs and other animals. All the children really enjoyed the trip and had lots of fun being able to see the size of the dinosaurs that once lived on the Earth.
Arriving at the Museum
On a cold rainy morning in April our class arrived at the Museum searching for dinosaur bones. Our current unit was coming to a close and we were wrapping up discussing dinosaur bones in the classroom, we decided to head to the museum and give the children the experience of observing dinosaur bones for real.
After walking through a couple of the galleries at the museum we finally found what we were looking for!! BONES!
All our friends lined up to look at the skeleton in the exhibit. We were all surprised by the size of the bones and the skeleton.
That's a Dinosaur
One of the children pointing out the dinosaur bones that she discovered in the museum.
A closer look
Getting a closer look at the animals on display by kneeling on the floor and observing the animals.
A Giant Turtle
We thought it would be silly to take some pictures looking through the shell of a giant turtle shell!!
After looking at all the fossils and bones we were all a little hungry and needed to take some time for a little snack before heading back to Bigelow.
